Packing

Having finished all the fiddling and tweaking and with the bikes in superb condition, the next stage was to take them apart again. Gutted. Well, not totally apart...just enough for the packing guys to be able to fit them in the crates when they picked the bikes up.

Handlebars removed...

We found the best option was to take the handlebars off completely, leaving just the throttle cables attached, and cable-tie them to the left-hand fork leg. The brake assembly from the right-hand grip unbolts and is (you guessed it) cable-tied to the frame. The clutch cable disconnects and is secured near the headstock. All wiring loom connections unclip (conveniently) from the wiring "mess" (technical term) under the front headlight. Wing mirrors unscrew and are packed separately.

The bikes will be shipped as "dangerous goods" meaning that we don't need to drain the tanks or remove batteries.
