The first part of the route starts in North America - Los Angeles, to be precise - where we'll (hopefully!) be meeting the bikes after the flight out from the UK. We'll aim to ride from LA, past San Diego and across the Mexican border and then down the Baja Peninsula to La Paz (not the Bolivian one!), across the end of the Gulf of California on a ferry to Mazatlan, then via Mexico City, Veracruz and Cancun, through Belize to Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua... |
| ...into Costa Rica where we plan a two-week breather to work on our suntans and soak up the local scenery and culture. Then it's back on the road to Panama, where we air-freight the bikes out to Bogota in Colombia. Then down the spine of the Andes and across the border to Quito, heading for Lima and Cusco in Peru (where we hope to walk at least some of the Inca Trail), into Bolivia (followed by a quick duck into Chile), then back across the border to Argentina, and (phew!) finally to Buenos Aires where we fly the bikes back out to Europe - nearly 20,000 miles later! |
